FUNCTION

1. Controlling the opening and closing of the exhaust butterfly valve: As the core actuator of the exhaust braking system, the valve core is moved by the on/off state of the solenoid coil, controlling the compressed air entering the pneumatic actuator of the exhaust butterfly valve to achieve the opening and closing of the valve.

Achieving engine exhaust braking: When energized, the solenoid valve opens the air passage, compressed air pushes the butterfly valve to close, the exhaust passage is blocked, high back pressure is formed in the engine cylinder, the compression resistance increases sharply, the engine outputs negative torque, and the vehicle decelerates significantly. When de-energized, the solenoid valve closes the air passage, the butterfly valve resets and opens, exhaust flows normally, the brake is released, and the engine resumes normal power output.

3. Assisting with long downhill/continuous deceleration: In scenarios such as long downhill slopes in mountainous areas, heavy-load downhill slopes, or scenarios requiring prolonged deceleration, exhaust braking can be used to replace or assist the foot brake to prevent brake pad/drum overheating, brake fade, lock-up, or failure, significantly extending the life of the vehicle's braking system.
