Function
1. The high and low gear cylinders of the transmission's auxiliary gearbox are controlled by pneumatic signals, enabling an H-shaped gear shift pattern.
Low gear (L): Used for heavy-duty starting, climbing, and low-speed, high-torque output (such as uphill driving with a full load or low-speed operation in mining areas).High gear (H): Used for highway cruising, economical driving, and higher vehicle speeds. The valve precisely distributes the air source to the auxiliary gearbox cylinders based on the pneumatic signal from the driver's control lever (or pneumatic switch), ensuring reliable switching between high and low gears.
2. When the system air pressure is insufficient (below the safety threshold of <0.4–0.5 MPa) or a valve malfunctions, the auxiliary gearbox is automatically locked, forcing the vehicle to operate only in low gear (L). This is a safety protection mechanism to prevent insufficient power, loss of control, or transmission damage that could result from accidentally engaging a high gear when the air pressure is low.
