As the first-stage filter (coarse filtration stage) of the heavy-duty truck fuel system, it integrates coarse filtration, oil-water separation, electric heating and manual pump functions to ensure that diesel fuel is clean, water-free and wax-free before entering the high-pressure system.

FUNCTION

1. Coarse Filtration: The filter element removes larger particulate impurities from the diesel fuel, preventing contaminants from entering the subsequent fine filter or high-pressure common rail system, which can lead to injector sticking, pump wear, or insufficient engine power.

2. Oil-Water Separation and Water Collection: Utilizing gravity separation, water in the diesel fuel settles to the bottom of the cup, effectively separating free water and emulsified water. This reduces the risk of water entering the engine and causing corrosion, rust, emulsified oil, or incomplete combustion.

3. Electric Heating for Wax Prevention and Cold Start Assist: An integrated electric heating element automatically/manually heats the diesel fuel in low temperatures during winter, preventing wax formation, ensuring filter clarity and unobstructed fuel lines, and improving cold start performance.

4. Water Level Sensor Alarm: An integrated water level sensor at the bottom of the cup sends a signal to the instrument panel when water reaches a certain height, illuminating the water level warning light or sounding a buzzer to remind the driver to drain/drain the water (through the drain valve at the bottom of the cup) to prevent excessive water from entering the system. 5. DETAILS

Routinely check the water level and drainage. Check for water accumulation at the bottom of the reservoir. After parking and turning off the engine, open the drain valve at the bottom of the reservoir to drain any water/debris until pure diesel fuel flows out. After draining, tighten the valve to prevent leaks. It is recommended to drain the reservoir every 5,000-10,000 km or once a month; for inferior diesel fuel or in humid environments, reduce this to once a week; drain the reservoir immediately if the water level warning light illuminates.
