As an important gearbox part, double H valve is mainly used to realize high and low gear switching and basic gear switching with auxiliary box. This model is mainly used in the gearbox of Sinotruk series.
Function
1. Air passage switching: Its internal passages resemble the letter "H". The vertical lines on the left and right connect to the external high-pressure and low-pressure air lines, respectively; the horizontal line in the middle is the ventilation chamber inside the gearbox.
High-Gear Mode: When the driver shifts into "high gear," the valve's baffle moves, opening the passage between the left vertical line (high-gear air passage) and the central horizontal line, and closing the right vertical line (low-gear air passage). At this point, air pressure can only enter the high-gear air chamber of the transmission from the left, causing the clutch inside the gearbox to lock into high gear.
Low-Gear Mode: When shifting into "low gear," the valve moves, opening the passage between the right vertical line and the central horizontal line, and closing the left vertical line. Air pressure can only enter the low-gear air chamber from the right, causing the clutch inside the gearbox to lock into low gear.
2. Gear Shift Command Control: This system is connected to the gear shift lever in the driver's cab. When the driver pulls the lever, moves the shift fork, or presses the foot switch, the gear shift solenoid valve in the cab activates. However, this gear shift solenoid valve is only a control switch (on/off); it cannot directly open the high and low gear channels inside the gearbox. It requires an intermediate component, which is the dual H-valve.
Control process: When the shift solenoid valve is energized, the internal coil is energized, generating a magnetic field. This magnetic field attracts or repels the small valve core (actuator) inside the double H valve. The valve core is pushed, causing the gate to rotate, completing the switching between the high-gear and low-gear channels.
