Checklist
1. Thorough Cleaning and Inspection: After removing the old fuel return bolt, thoroughly clean the bolt hole and the top surface of the injector using a carburetor cleaner. Inspect the surface for any pitting or scoring marks left by the old gasket. If any ridges or uneven spots are found, they must be smoothed down using fine-grit sandpaper.
2. "Open-Cover" Test Method: After assembling the fuel return lines and gaskets and tightening the fasteners during the overhaul, do not rush to install the cylinder head cover. Instead, use the manual fuel pump (hand primer) to pressurize the fuel system and carefully observe the edges of the copper gaskets at each of the six cylinder return connections for any signs of slight oil seepage. Only after confirming that the area is completely dry should you install the cylinder head cover gasket and complete the final assembly.
