Operating Process
1. Closed State (De-energized): During normal vehicle operation without auxiliary braking engaged, the solenoid valve is de-energized. Compressed air is blocked by the valve and cannot enter the exhaust brake cylinder; the exhaust pipe butterfly valve remains fully open, allowing normal engine exhaust.
2. Active State (Energized): Upon toggling the exhaust brake switch or depressing the brake pedal, the ECU sends voltage to the solenoid valve. The coil generates magnetic force to lift the valve core, opening the air circuit.
3. Braking Engagement: Compressed air flows through the solenoid valve into the exhaust butterfly valve cylinder, driving the piston to seal off the exhaust pipe. Engine exhaust is obstructed, creating significant backpressure that forces the engine speed to drop, thereby slowing the vehicle.
4. Release State (De-energized): Once braking is disengaged, the solenoid valve is de-energized; the valve core resets, cutting off the air supply. Simultaneously, the exhaust port at the base of the valve body rapidly vents residual air from the cylinder, allowing the exhaust butterfly valve to reset to the open position under the force of its own spring.
