1. Replace in pairs: The cab rear axle is equipped with both left and right air shock absorbers. Since the damping characteristics and air spring elasticity differ between old and new units, replacing only one side results in uneven cab height, accelerating wear and causing torsional stress on the new shock absorber and cab hinges.
2. Adjust the leveling valve before operation: After installing the new air shock absorber, the leveling valve linkage rod must be adjusted to ensure symmetrical inflation heights for the left and right air springs when the vehicle is idling. If the linkage rod is deformed, the air spring may over-inflate continuously, leading to a rupture.
3. Prevent air leaks at the connection (Voss joint): The air inlet at the top of the shock absorber typically utilizes a quick-connect fitting (Voss-style). When disconnecting the old air line, inspect the end for scratches; if scratches are present, trim off 1 cm before inserting the line into the new shock absorber. Failure to do so can easily result in a slow leak, causing the cab to sag after the vehicle has been parked overnight.
