FUNCTION
1. Transmits compressed air for trailer braking: The red coil (emergency/supply line) continuously supplies high-pressure air from the tractor's air reservoir to the trailer's air reservoir and spring brake chambers. When stopped, if air pressure is lost, the springs automatically extend and lock the wheels, ensuring the trailer does not roll. The blue coil (Service/Control Line) transmits the foot brake signal, inflating/deflating the trailer's regular brake chambers for on-demand braking.
2. Adapts to relative vehicle movement and prevents hose damage: The coil design is spring-like and expandable (compact in coiled state, can be stretched 2-3 times), allowing changes in angle and distance between the tractor and trailer during turns, inclines, declines, starts, and stops without breakage, twisting, or tangling. It prevents the hose from being scratched, crushed, or snagged on other objects while hanging on the ground, leading to leaks or breakage.
3. Ensures braking system safety and reliability: Features high burst strength, oil resistance, weather resistance, and low-temperature resistance. The emergency stop line (red) prioritizes parking braking; even if the service stop line (blue) breaks or leaks air, the trailer can still lock up due to spring force. This prevents air lock and pressure loss, ensuring timely response from both the foot brake and handbrake.
