Function

1. Electrical Control and Mechanical Action Conversion: The solenoid valve directly converts the electrical signal from the power take-off (PTO) switch in the cab into mechanical action, enabling precise engagement and disengagement of the PTO. When energized, the coil generates a magnetic field that attracts the valve core, opening the air passage. Compressed air pushes the piston and shift fork in the PTO cylinder, engaging the PTO gear with the gearbox to extract power. When de-energized, the magnetic field disappears, the return spring pushes the valve core back to its original position, closing the air passage and rapidly releasing pressure, automatically disengaging the PTO.

2. Power Transmission Chain Connection and Disconnection: The solenoid valve acts as a control gate, determining whether engine power is transmitted to the hydraulic system of the superstructure. In the engaged state, engine power travels through the gearbox, PTO, output shaft, and drive shaft to the hydraulic pump. The pump generates high-pressure oil, driving the cylinder to perform tasks such as lifting the dump truck, unloading cargo, driving the water pump, or other superstructure operations. In the disengaged state, the power chain is completely cut off, the hydraulic pump stops operating, and the system enters a pressure-holding standby state, avoiding unnecessary increases in fuel consumption, noise generation, and component wear.

3. Safety and Reliability Assurance: The solenoid valve has a built-in automatic reset and pressure relief design, which disconnects when power is cut off to prevent accidental continuous power output. It is also often interlocked with the vehicle's clutch switch, neutral switch, safety switch, etc., and can only engage when conditions such as parking and clutch being pressed are met, thus improving the overall operational safety.
